Cardinal truths continued…
- Family fights are about small things…sadly in the long run, they spiral into major controversies
- Sometimes it’s nice to be known as a big snob…you can avoid some inconvenient situations
- If we are on any social media, we are already immortal!!!!
- Being there at a particular time makes all the difference in life
- We resent people we depend on; they remind us of our failings
- What’s in a name? Apparently everything!!!
- If only WE know our mistakes, we can hide them a lifetime
- We don’t believe /realize we are happy when we are happy!
- As soon as we reach the state of happiness, we ourselves will do or think of something that promptly pushes us into unhappiness!
- Men control household spending…whether they have earned it or not
- Beware…sometimes when others ask you to make choices, it can boomerang into a sound criticism of that very choice you made!
- The less attention we draw to ourselves the better for our mental peace
- The lies we tell ourselves are much more dangerous than the lies others tell us or we tell others
- We all know the simple things we love…but fail to realize that a combination of such simple experiences every now and then constitutes happiness
- Those who work only can be criticized…not those who escape work
- Losing interest in others is more dangerous than being angry with them! There is finality to that.
- If you talk too much, you will end up being background noise in somebody’s life!
- Writing ones thoughts is a great idea since no one can interrupt you while doing so…unlike trying to tell your thoughts

- Looking into the other’s eyes is a good indication to understanding what’s on their mind, what they are likely to be and do… many of us are incapable of looking into the others eyes directly and thereby miss important social cues

- Humans need a massive calamity to stop infighting among themselves
- There is a tendency to blame one person for all the evils of our situation…are we not making that person omnipotent at least in our thoughts?
- Crashing boring life might propel one to do something spectacular

- Women become more and more partial to their own cooking as they age and impatient of others’!
- True description of a person can never happen; if the person does it, it’s considered narcissistic; if others do, they never truly understand to describe accurately!

- If we get praised for average work; we will never rise above that mark
- It is common to see people vying for higher positions rather doing good work in the position which they are in
- Bossing around on subordinates and dependents is mistaken to be courage
- By the time we start reflecting on the influences in our life, most of the influencers are already gone
- World is full of Peter Keatings…a few Howard Roarks have to rescue the world from them (Stumped? Read Fountain Head by Ayn Rand, 1943, it’s still a best seller, available everywhere)
- The ultimate self centeredness could be seen in people who make commitments only to themselves and none to others in their life
- Special days are a pain …we have too many expectations from others on these days and are invariably disappointed
- Enemies are important; they propel us to do our best and sometimes something extraordinary!
- Not all wins are the same; in a game the cliff hanger win is the greatest, while in politics, the comfortable win is the greatest
- Everything in the world hinges on human psychology and behaviour, because science and technology have to be innovated, developed, and above all used appropriately by humans!
- Why do we think we are responsible for a lot of things we actually are not responsible for?
- Husbands scold their wives when maids do not turn up, as if they are loaded with that work!
- The day we think we are going to enjoy the most, we seldom do
- Happiness is experienced only in retrospect
- We never get a closure for the death of a near one; life is not a drama or a movie…we simply get by as best as we can
- You cannot beat one-upmanship; that person takes every single opportunity to put himself/herself forward
- Sometimes showing the mirror becomes a route to simply losing a relationship/friendship
- Everyone wants good times, but no one reads good news! Media is therefore full of bad news
- If you give advice, you will end up apologizing!
- Doing good work will certainly give you more work; not sure whether you get the credit for it
- One great understanding of humans must be being sure about themselves; whether they are capable or completely incapable of doing something
- Instructing and delegating work is a bigger skill than doing the task; it also has the greatest headaches!
- The elderly ask so many inappropriate questions for which there are often no answers.
